Just joined

I just came over from the autism community. I don't believe there is a cure possible for autism, but I'm not angry at those who do think there might be at some point. I do want to help my son to interact in the world as much as he comfortably can without changing who he is as a person, so I think this will be a good community for me to be in. :)

My hope is that this will be a place to share goals like this :)

I am not angry at those wanting a cure. Most are parents who simply want the best for their children. I know that there is no way that anyone could cure my son of his autism and still leave his personality intact though. My goal is much like yours in that I want to help him be able to function in the world and yet I don't want to change who he is or have him feeling like he is flawed in some way.

I hope that others will join and that this community will serve where I see a need. Welcome to the community!
What you guys said. :)

And I'm new here, too.
me too. i feel so overwhelmed with information, theories, diets, blah, blah, blah.

sometimes I don't even know what to say or do. I just want to have fun with him and have him be as responsible and efficient as he he can to function and not be looked at as "defective."
